Cross Bore Prevention Program

A cross bore is the intersection of two or more underground utility lines. A cross bore can happen between any utility, for example, electric, communications, sewer, or gas. 

Gas and sewer cross bores represent a significant and costly risk to property and people. An effective cross bore prevention program is the most effective way to mitigate these risks. 

Effective prevention programs include pre-construction and post-construction video inspections for both new utility installations and replacement of existing utilities. A video inspection of the lines provides a detailed view of the pipe's interior, identifying new and legacy cross bores.
